Obesity is acondition when the weight is much more than the weight with regard to height proportion. It is the main cause of arthritis, diabetes, cardiac failure etc.

The Body Mass Index is calculated by the weight of the person divided by the height. There is a BMI Calculator. If the BMI is above than then normal, it is considered overweight and if the BMI is beyond overweight, it is considered to be obese. The obese person has more fat than muscles.

Obesity means unwanted body fat, that makes our body increase in horizontally (i.e. we become fat) which is not a sign of being healthy. The increase in obesity can cause many diseases, if the obesity is not treated with proper exercise and proper diet.
